What to visit in Jordan - The Cave of the Seven Sleepers

The cave of the Seven Sleepers is located in a mountain, of the Rajib village, inside a islamic complex.
It's a short drive from the centre of Amman. Around 25 minutes. Depending on the traffic.
The visit will not take long.

The legend says that seven young male Christians were persecuted, by the Roman emperor, because of their religion. So, they found refuge in a cave, to pray. Where they felt asleep.  The emperor found them and ordered the cave to be sealed.

More than 100 years later, the landowner decided to open the cave to use for the cattle, when he found the sleepers. Miraculously, they awoke, believing to just have slept a night.
One of them, went to a village to buy food. But the money he was carrying attracted the attention of the people, cause it was so ancient. Shortly after, they died.

Inside this small cave are the tombs, where they were buried. (I could count 6). In the meantime, the bones were collected from all the tombs and are, now, in just one tomb. The one  that has a small window, from where is possible to see the bones and skulls.
In the cave, is also possible to see artefacts found there.

The real location of the cave is unknown
This is one of the locations that claims to be that cave.
In any case, the cave is well preserved and it has some archeological interest, as there are  several Roman and Byzantine ruins on site.
