What to visit in Jordan - Dead Sea

One of the saltiest lakes in the world, is located on earth's lowest point.
It's  so deeply salty that no fish or plant can flourish there. That's the reason for its name. It is also the reason why we can float.

I was caught by surprise when I realised that, despite the big deposits of salt, the locals don't cook or season their food with salt from the Dead sea

Who never heard about the dead sea mud! It comes from here! The dead sea grounds!!! The water has also therapeutic properties. A natural spa!

Recommendations:
- Do not dive and move very slowly
- To not let water in  your eyes. It will hurt very much. If it happens do not rub them.
- Avoid to swallow water
- If you have a scar  or wounds it will  hurt very much but will cure faster
- Make sure you have water in case you need to wash your eyes fast
- Just float in your back
- Wear water shoes to walk in the dead sea or your feet might get cut by the rocks
- Shower after as your skin will feel itchy
- Better not come during the Summer, as the temperatures here easily reach more than 40 degrees.

Public Dead Sea Beach
If you are not  staying in the Dead sea's hotels, the entrance fee for this beach can be 15JD or 20JD for non- Jordanians. Different tourist paid different prices.

Yes, we need to pay to go to a public beach!! Even the locals!

There are changing rooms, paid lockers (some people paid 1,5JD, others 2Jd and some even paid 3,5JD), dirty and smelly toilets, restaurant, cold water showers, paid towels service, a small shop, swimming pools and also lots of rubbish along the shore
Although the entrance is paid, the cleaning  and maintenance is not done. And we also need to pay for the mud (3JD per person).
It closes at 20h, during the Summer.

Using Private Hotel Beaches
If you prefer a cleaner place with better maintenance, many Hotels allow non- clients to use their private beaches for an entrance fee that starts from 30JD.
