What to visit in Jordan - Wadi Rum desert

The Wadi Rum is located in the South of Jordan and it's a protected valley of mountains of sandstone and granite shaped by the winds, over the times.

Its unique landscape makes us feel we are in another planet, like the films: Red Planet, Transformers, The Martian, Prometheus, that, among others, actually used Wadi Rum as scenario.

Different ancient civilizations lived here, like the Nabateans.
Today, just the Bedouins, that are arabic people that live in camps in the desert.

There are many camps, that include meals, dance show and offer activities like jeep safari, climbing, hiking and others.

Opening Hours
It is allowed to visit 24h

Entrance Fees
Yes, you need to pay to see desert. For non-Jordanians is 5JD.

Best time to go
The best time of the year to go is Spring and Autumn. It's sunny but not so much cold or hot.

However, sunscreen, a hat and a bottle of water are always advised.

I would avoid the arabic weekends - Fridays and Saturdays - as it's normally more crowed.
