Mount Nebo is, according to the Torah and Old Testament, the place where God showed Moses the Promised Land.

In the mount there is a metal serpentine cross, designed by the Italian artist Giovanni Fantoni, that represents the bronze serpent Moses took into the desert and the cross where Jesus was crucified.
In Moses's honor was built a modest church, where it's possible to see ancient Byzantine mosaics of the region.

The best time of the year to go is Spring and Autumn. It's sunny but not cold or too hot. However, sunscreen, a hat and a bottle of water are always advised.
