The Arabic Names

The Jordanian names are, normally, very ancient and have meanings, the majority religious.
Arabs believe that the first name influences the personality of the person.

Just to name a few of the most usual:

Man

Abdullah - God's slave
Ahmad - The wise one
Hassan- The beautiful one
Sayid - The one who is happy
Mostafa - The chosen one
Muhammad - The adored one

Women

Adilah - the one who is honest
Amina - The trustworthy
Somaya - The unique, the special one
Samira - The entertaining companion
Jana - The gift from God
Farah - The happy one, happiness

Girls and boys have their given name - the first name and the whole name of their fathers.

For example: The parents name their newborn baby girl Amina. The rest of her name will be the full name of her father, including her father's first name.

So, in this case,  the full name of Amina should be: Amina (given name) + name of her father + name of her grandfather + name of her great grandfather or name of the family

Arabs, normally, just have one first name.
